This one time...

I MOVED TO FLAGSTAFF!

Yea... So for those of you who are wondering "what the heck Staci, when did you decide this!?" let me tell you... it was the most spontaneous decision of my life! One day at camp I was talking to my good, best friend Ashlee and she said I should move to Flagstaff. And at the time, I was like "umm no thanks". But then a few events happened and I was more like, "ummm OK!". So then I talked to my other good, best friend Bethany who is a wonderful teacher at Flagstaff High School and she said she might be able to get me a job as a para professional in her classroom. I was definitely on board! Thinking for the future, this would be GREAT experience for when Im a teacher! Soooo.... when all was said and done, I got the job and am now living in a house in Flagstaff working at Flagstaff High School and loving it! The only down side is that I work at a high school with a ton of teenagers, and frankly.. Im not a huge fan of high school kids. I find them rude and self-centered. BUT, I work with some of the cutest kids ever and they are teaching me SO much about my abilities and in general, how to work with the population I have grown to love so much. Basically, good things are going to come from this year, I can tell already!

HELLO ASU!

Its official. I finished my LAST class at MCC today with my EDU 220 final. When I say final, I mean the biggest waste of time ever where the teacher asked us to bring in an "artifact" that represented the most important thing we learned in the class. So cheesy. Just dont make us come.

P.S. When I typed "ASU" into google images, there were a lot of scantily clad girls. Apparently being an ASU girl means being a fake blonde with big boobs and no clothes. Not me!

P.P.S Camp is in 15 days. Yup. You read right! And also my best friend comes home in... not that much time... well like 2 months. But compared to the 6 it was when she left, it is super exciting!!

Everything is bugging me.

OK, I'm warning you now that this blog post is going to be me complaining. And if you choose to read it, after you are done you might not want to be my friend anymore... So if we are super good friends, just don't read it. And then we can stay good friends forever.

First off, I sometimes get depressed when I see on facebook that weirder people than me are in relationships. I know that sounds SO MEAN. And it kind of is so mean.. But really. If there are guys out there who can handle the girls I'm talking about.. Then there must be at least ONE guy out there that can handle me. Come at me bro! HAHA! I cant believe I just put that in my blog, but Im keeping it because it doesn't really work in that way, yet I find it hilarious! 


Also... our couch is driving.me.crazy. Yea. I said couch. Its cushions REFUSE to stay on and then I find myself LITERALLY being eaten by it!! And when you are being eaten by anything, even a couch, its just not comfortable!

School... can bite me. And that's all I will say about that.

OK, I promise that soon I will post a very happy :) and cheerful :] blog post. I just needed to get that out of my system!

So since its Easter weekend, I thought I would share with you the movie scene I have been thinking about ALL WEEK. Its from the wonderful movie Cheaper By the Dozen. The scene is when they are taking their family Christmas picture and the mom is giving one of the kids a hard time about wearing black. Here it is:

Kid 1: Black works mom! Jesus like had his funeral on Christmas!
Kid 2: He died on Easter barbie!
Kid 3: He was resurrected on Easter moron!

So now, if you are ever confused, as I'm sure some people get due to the lack of celebrating the TRUE meaning of holidays, you can read this and know, that Jesus was resurrected on Easter. Going off that, Easter. What a wonderful day/event to be celebrated! But WHAT.THE.HECK has our society done to this holiday!? Here is what I'm thinkin happened a long time ago:

• So today is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We arent sure if people are gonna wanna do that without some sort of.. object to celebrate with. EGGS! who doesnt like eggs!? But eggs have nothing to do with Jesus... Its ok because we will follow eggs with BUNNIES! And the best part about it all, BUNNIES DONT LAY EGGS!

I think this is literally how this holiday came to be what it is. Here is my challenge to all 2 of you who read my blog: celebrate Easter this year with your WHOLE focus on Jesus Christ, his ultimate sacrifice, and his wonderfulness.watch this.

On a completely different note, today I spent WAY too much money. But in the end, I fell in love. Yes. I really did. I fell in love... with my new BOOTS! haha GOTCHA! you thought I was going to go into a long, romantical story about how I fell in love with a handsome man, who swept me off my feet. NOPE! I fell in love with a pair of boots that support my feet.

Also, I have a new crush. The guy who works at Albertsons... Its going to be a great thing. Just wait and see.

I have been going to school for what seems like forever. And I am super grateful for the opportunity I have to do so. However, sometimes you get to be too much. Your teachers seem to think that silly busy work will help me become a better teacher myself. Well, I don't believe in this. Maybe one day I will appreciate what they are doing. But as of right now, not a fan.

I find you to be the most worldly and stupid thing that unfortunately makes the world go round. Whatever happened to LOVE making the world go round?! I never lived in those times, I'm not sure those times ever existed, but we should jump on that. Now I'm knee deep in the water somewhere..

Sometimes all it takes to get me back to my happy place is a relaxing few days doing nothing. So this spring break I took off to pinetop and stayed with my grandparents for a few days. Where you might say this is a lame spring break, I say it is exactly what I needed. I didnt have anything to worry about. I READ. FOR FUN! A great book actually called "The Lucky One". Total romantic, adorable kinda book. Nicholas Sparks sure knows how to get his demographic(young single women who desperately hope their future husbands will be as good as the men in the books) to read till they finish his books. And then I started reading "The Help". It is really good too! Just havent finished it yet! I brought Sadie up with me. We had a good time front porch sittin and walking in the wonderful weather! She did NOT get along with my grandparents cats however! But we still had fun :) 

The day from and hell... AND the day after :)

Ok sorry to those of you who read my blog and see the title and think "WOAH Staci, that is NOT a nice word!" because you know what? That word is just how yesterday felt!! Im sure you all know I was in a car accident. But let me tell you the beginning of my day. So I work in an elementary school M/W and I leave my apt at 7:30am. Well the night before I was uber sick and was up till about 3:30-4:00am(not.fun). So then my alarm didnt go off. I woke up at 7:45 when I normally leave at 7:30...Fail. I went to the elementary school and got there 20 min late, wound up having to leave 1/2 hour early. I barely made it into my apt when I throw up(thankfully in the bathroom). I then have to go to math class and basically it took all I had to not leave because I was so nauseous. After math class my day was fairly ok and normal, aside from not feeling good. Well then I am on my way home and am stopped at a red light. I had been sitting at the light for awhile and then someone slammed into the back of my car.hard. I kinda panicked and decided that since my car could move I would pull into the gas station on the corner, assuming the car that hit me would follow. I WAS VERY WRONG. He sped away! so there I was with a broken ken, heart racing, body shaking and... no clue what to do. Ill spare you the rest of the boring details but basically I am MAD AT THAT GUY! I then decided I needed to end this day P R O N T O. PRONTO. so I went to bed.

NEXT DAY! Ok I decided I deserved a break. So I slept in and didnt go to class(oops.) But then I got to skype my BEST FRIEND MEGHAN! It was sooooooOOOOOOOooooOOOO good!! I basically started crying as soon as I heard her voice on the computer. I was THAT.EXCITED. It really just made my whole day better!!! Like for real. We talked for about an hour ish and it was just fabulous!!

Anywho. this week looks like this: bad day-1, good day-1. We will see how the rest of this week pans out!!

The other day I left for school pretty early and decided I did not want to wait 20 minutes for my class to start. So I chose to go and get a Jamba Juice. As I am walking out, I see a guy on the side of the street with a sign asking for money. Normally I would see him and walk by without even thinking about it.Today however was different. At first I walked past him but when I reached my car I had a very strong feeling that I needed to help this guy out. I mean, I know that people who are on the street asking for money typically are thought of as drunks and druggies, but if this guy was willing to sit on the side of the road, hold a sign, wear ragged clothes and ask for money(actually he didnt ask he sat with his head down) then I figured he obviously needed something happy in his day. I walked up to him and gave him five bucks. Such a small amount. But the guy looked up at me, smiled really big, and thanked me. I hate that there is no selfless good deed because I felt really good. I dont know his story, I dont need to. But if my five dollars could brighten his day even the smallest amount its worth it.

I also wish my best friend Meghan was with me right now. I miss her so freakin much. ugh.

Even though I dont feel like I did a whole lot this 3 day weekend, I did have some pretty good moments! Friday I got off work early and Lee was off so he drove out here and we went to YC's which is delicious and its always a good time when Lee and I are together. We are SO FUNNY! Then we went to Gilbert and met up with the other half of our FamBam. We mostly talked politics(weird right?!) But there was ice cream involved which automatically equals a GOOD time! Saturday was a boring day in which I did homework and... not much else. BUT friday night I went to my wonderfully fabulous friend Morgan Rogers house! OH MY LANTA it was SOO good to catch up and talk about life with that girl. We laughed and had rootbeer floats(when was the last time you had one of those bad boys?? I suggest you jump on that cuz it was uber tasty!). Plus her family is just great too! Sunday was a regular ol' Sunday. And today I had the lovely opportunity to sleep in and relax all day. We took Sadie to the dog park and then for a small walk around this random mountain, we also worked on her training. WHICH SHE IS GETTING! Dang my dog is smart! Tonight I went to GCU to pick up my best friend Daron and he and I gave a speech at a Lions Club meeting. The meeting was ok, but mostly I just liked hanging out with him! We also went and visited his family and his puppies! I LOVE his dogs. SO.MUCH. I then came home to waste some time on facebook and play with MY puppy(who is just so darn cute). Speaking of my puppy I think she is finally starting to get the concept that if she rings the bell on our door, we take her outside! She did it like 5 times today!! Although they were all within like an hour and she mostly just was trickin me and didnt need to go potty.... But PROGRESS! Anywho, hope you all enjoyed your 3 day weekend! Sorry to those of you who attend ASU, the school who apparently doesnt think our presidents do enough to be celebrated. Dumb ASU :)

We go in and we tell them we've got an idea for a blog about nothing! They say, "whats your blog about?" we say, "NOTHING!"

This blog post isnt gonna be about much. Here's the thing, my life seems at times like its so incredibly busy. But then days like today, when I finished my homework early, volunteered in the elementary school, went to class, faxed my time sheet and then came home and decided I am poor so I should just stay home all day... I realize my life isnt that busy. So whats a girl to do? Well she could play with her puppy:check. She could work on training her puppy:check. She could go grocery shopping with her roomie:check. OR she could watch Lost. OK! Yep thats what im doing. And for the most part I am not paying attention. I find my mind often wandering to far off places. Mostly the future. I am scared so incredibly so by the future. Why? Because its a mystery. Its the unknown. Its what will come of me.my family.friends. scary.stuff.

After listening to this song on the way home from work I started thinking about the meaning of the lyrics. On top of this being a great song to sing to, it has some AMAZING lyrics! In my life there haven't been many times when I "dance". I often let my fears take over a situation or an opportunity and I miss out on what could have been. This is quite unfortunate because the few times I have "danced" have proven to be some of the best experiences I've had. For instance: Camp Tatiyee. Where on earth would I be with out this camp? My first summer there I was 16 years old, never had a job, never been away from home and was rather shy. So many times in that first week I wanted to quit and have my mom come and get me. But I didn't. I danced. And because of that my life was changed.

Here is a line from this song "Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance."

Faith is something we could all use a little more of. It is unfortunate that for a lot of us our loved ones have more faith in us that we do in ourselves. My lack of faith in myself has been an on going battle for as long as I can remember. When I lose faith in myself, I turn to my Heavenly Father to help me find it. So far he hasn't failed me. Another line from the song "Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance" I am a strong believer in the power of prayer and that when we have faith, anything is possible.

This post may be just a bunch of blabbing. But if you gain any insight from it, I hope it is that we need to DANCE more. Take chances! Have faith! Live! Love! 

the GOOD and the BAD

Lets start with the bad shall we? I'll leave you on a happy note :)

- First and foremost, MEGHAN IS LEAVING IN like... 9 DAYS! I am of course sooo excited for her, but I am going to miss my best friend like CRAZY!!!
- I started school again... bleh.
- I HATE TIMESHEETS! If you are ever offered a job where they expect you to fill out, get signed and then fax timesheets, RUN! DONT TAKE THE JOB!
- My car was in the shop for about 8 hours today. FOR AN OIL CHANGE!
- I am about as poor as they come.
- Financial Aid is slow, therefore I dont have all my books yet...
- I have to leave my puppy for a whole week :(

Ok now for some GOOD!

- IM GOIN TO CALI TOMORROW!
- I started school again(both bad and good, one semester closer to being done!)
- I got to spend all day with my bestie Meghan and part of the day with my other bestie Danny :)
- Danny and I figured out how to change the headlight in my car ALL BY OURSELVES!
- Nothing major was wrong with my car!(though they have 1,000 dollars worth of "suggested" work)
- I GET TO SEE MY MOM TOMORROW!
- My Daddy is a wonderful man!
- I have some pretty amazing friends!
- Soon I get my big bed back, which means MORE PILLOWS!
- I packed in like 15 min!(record!)
- New clothes today
- My puppy is healthy! And is now rabies vaccinated and had her 2nd parvo shot!
- MY FAMILY IS GREAT!
